Bachelor Programme in Hospitality and Design Management – Overview

IHTTI offers a 3-year programme during which students will receive the following qualifications:

After 1 year:	Swiss certificate in Food & Beverage
After 2 years:	Swiss Diploma in International Hotel Operations Management
After 2.5 years:	Swiss Higher Diploma in International Hotel & Design Management
After 3 years:	British BA (Hons) Degree in International Hospitality and Design Management and a Swiss Degree in International Hospitality and Design Management

Year 1: Certificate
Academic term: 5 months	Internship: 4-6 months
Food & Beverage Service Practice Food & Beverage Management Food & Beverage Advanced Service Food & Beverage Theory and Menu Planning Food & Beverage Cost Control Wine & Bar & Sommelier Health & Hygiene Hospitality Studies Information Systems I Accounting Principles Personal Development & Communication French, German or Spanish	Paid internship in the Hospitality industry in Switzerland or abroad. Monthly salary in Switzerland: CHF 2'168.- to CHF 2'450.- (Deductions for food, accommodation, tax and insurance: approximately CHF 1’000.-)

Year 2: Swiss Diploma
Academic term: 5 months	Internship: 4-6 months
Housekeeping Management Housekeeping Operations Front Office & Rooms Division Management Front Office Operations (Opera) Introduction to Events Banqueting & Events Concierge Services Events Décor Fundamentals of Interior Decorating Audio and Visual Technology Marketing Financial Accounting Business Communication & Leadership French, German or Spanish	Paid internship in the Hospitality industry in Switzerland or abroad. Monthly salary in switzerland: CHF 2'168.- to CHF 2'450.- (Deductions for food, accommodation, tax and insurance: approximately CHF 1’000.-)

Year 3: Swiss Higher Diploma
Academic term: 5 months
Marketing Management for the Service Industry Human Resource Management Brand & Product Development Managerial Accounting Retail Management Luxury Brands Applied Research Skills Logistics & Supply Interior Design Facility Management & Design Logistics and Supply for the Events Industry Informations Systems II French, German or Spanish

Year 3: BA Degree
Academic term: 5 months + 6 weeks dissertation
Human Resource Management & Business Strategy Innovation in Design & Technology Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship Advanced Consumer Behaviour Delivering Added Value Project Management Integrated Project / Independent Study

After successful completion of the IHTTI curriculum, BA graduates have the opportunity to enter the MA in International Hospitality Management in our SEG partner institution.

The first 2 years at IHTTI are each divided into two parts consisting of a 5-month academic term and a 4 to 6 month internship in the hospitality industry in Switzerland or abroad.

After successful completion of the Swiss Diploma in Hotel Operations Management, students can progress to the 3rd year during which they will obtain a Swiss Higher Diploma, a Swiss Degree and a British BA (Hons) Degree.
